Celebrate Good Times Come On!!

Woo Hoo, I made it! I would like to thank everyone who has been with me through out the night in my attempt to help homeless animals at the Nebraska Humane Society. I wasn’t sure what I got myself into when I started, but I’m so glad I participated. If I end up participating next year I think I’ll stick to one blog, twitter account and Facebook Page.

Thank you to everyone who followed along and thank you to everyone who donated!! NHS surpassed their fundraising goal and we helped twice as many animals because all the donations were matched!

I’ll end on this note!! Have an enjoyable Sunday!

Meet Pinky- She’s looking for a Forever Home!

Hey there, I’m Pinky! I came from a great home, but my owners unfortunately had to move away. So, here I am! I am front declawed, and I get along great with other cats and kids. The kids I lived with were 2 1/2 and 1 year old, so toddlers are a not a problem for me at all.  I am kind of a scaredy cat, so until I get used to an environment I tend to come across as very shy. However, some good old fashioned TLC is all it takes to get me to open up. I would really love a new home, do you think it could be with you?

Pinky is currently looking for a home at the Nebraska Humane Society, which is open today until 5 p.m!

I am a lion hear me… MEOW!

Did you know that the Nebraska Humane Society partners with the Omaha area PetSmarts to help get more animals adopted? So if you can’t find time to make it to the shelter you can always adopt one of NHS’s fabulous felines by stopping by a PetSmart.

This pretty little Princess is currently at the Shadowlake PetSmart. She’s a 7-year-old spayed female, gray Domestic Mediumhair mix. When she arrived at NHS her hair was extremely matted and our groomer and to give her a hair cut to help get rid of the pain.

Sorry for all the cat posts! NHS currently has 54 cats looking for homes and we’re trying as hard as we can to get them adopted. Plus, I’m more of a cat person than a dog person.

Hello November 13th!

So my next post was going to be a continuation of my riveting retinal story, but I think we all might need a pick me up. So here is a fun video I put together for NHS awhile back to celebrate Friday’s. I know the video is about Friday’s but it can help you celebrate the arrival of Sunday.  P.S. I hope this song is stuck in your head for the rest of the night.

A Secret from the NHS Webmaster

Blog-a-thon badgeWhen I tell people that I manage the website at the Nebraska Humane Society I usually get two comments.

  1. I love your site and I’m on it all the time!
  2. Man, you must be busy updating the dog and cat pages all the time.

Here’s a little secret: The dog and cat pages are updated automatically on the hour, so really it’s pretty easy to keep those pages updated with cute dog and cat profiles, and I’m left with time to market the animals looking for homes!!
